VITA

I am a documentary filmmaker, born in Sondrio in 1974.

I live between Munich and Bormio, and hold degrees in Political Economy from Bocconi University in Milan and in Philosophy from Heidelberg University (Ruprecht-Karls-Universität).

After working as a journalist, consultant, and freelance translator, I self-produced my first documentary film, dedicated to Italians in Bavaria, and in 2010 founded in Munich the documentary production company Alpenway Media GmbH.

As a director and/or producer of documentaries, I collaborate with major Italian and German broadcasters, including RAI, ARD, ZDF, and ARTE, for whom Alpenway co-produces, sometimes involving European funds and both German and Italian Film Commissions.

Alpenway’s productions are characterized by a wide range of subjects — from cultural to religious and travel themes — and are mainly aimed at presenting to an international audience the charm of an unconventional Italy. Alpenway documentaries are regularly selected for international film festivals and broadcast on European cultural channels.

For my entrepreneurial commitment as a migrant citizen, I was awarded the PhönixPreis by the City of Munich — the first Italian ever to receive it. In 2020, the Migrantes Foundation featured me in its Rapporto Italiani nel Mondo.

The German Embassy in Italy presents me as a testimonial, and I have been featured, among others, by Corriere della Sera and Süddeutsche Zeitung.
